New England Pen Association Prize has been awarded to martyred Iranian blogger Sattar Beheshti

The US based New England Pen Association Prize for freedom of expression and freedom of writing has been given to the Iranian blogger, Sattar Beheshti who was killed under torture two years ago in Evin prison in Iran.
Sattar Beheshti, a young Iranian blogger and a critic of the clerical regime in Iran was arrested two years ago for his blogs and his critical comments of the clerical establishment. He was immediately put under torture which finally ended in his death under torture. A few days later, his body was released to his family.   Read more
